I never got the story on this one. It arrived from a dealer in Texas with the simple request that the repair must be undetectable

With the neck and bridge removed, the cracks were glued and the body prepped for a new soundboard

This was a Fall limited edition Taylor 614CE L7 produced in 2004. After I fitted a new soundboard in place a channel was routed for the cocobolo purfling. The cocobolo starts out as small straight strips a few inches long and I'll heat and bend then to fit into the routed channels flanked by some multicolored veneers.

After the adhesive has cured the purfling is scraped flush to the top.

Jumping ahead a few steps the finish was applied, sanded and buffed to a gloss.

Strung up and ready for a trip back to Texas.
