A Collings OM arrived here with top damage. I unpacked it from the shipping box and let it acclimate near the shop window with icy chucks from the Squamscott river flowing below.

There were two deep gouges in the spruce top.

The gouge on the lower bout was so deep there was no chance of hiding it so......

The owner asked me to refinish the top with oil Varnish in a Vintage Sunburst pattern dark enough to shade the gouges.
